The Three Power Gifts

The disciples were instructed by their teacher to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father, of which He said “you have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence…. But you shall be receive power after the Holy Ghost shall come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me…”  And they waited as He instructed.  When the day of Pentecost had fully come the Holy Spirit fell on all of them, and the powerful church, the body of Christ was born and they walked in the power of the Holy Spirit doing the works that Jesus began to do and to teach.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 12 that the manifestations of the Holy Spirit were given to each believer to profit for all.  Think of that: for the profit of all.  The nine gifts or powerful manifestations of the Holy Spirit have been given to each of us as the Spirit wills, but we must be baptized in the Holy Spirit.  The gifts accompany the baptism as taught throughout the book of The Acts of the Apostles.

If this baptism was the promise of the Father, and if Jesus shed His blood that we may be filled with His Holy Spirit, do you not think that we should pursue this with all of our heart?  Don’t you feel that if Paul instructed us to covet these gifts (1 Cor. 12:31) we ought to give it our all?

Operating as ministers of the gospel of the Kingdom of God, we ought to use every available advantage the Father has given to us.  Are you baptized in Holy Spirit?  Are you walking in the power that God has laid up for you for His purposes, His plan and His strategy?  He is ready when we are.  Let’s take our place in the army of the Living God – the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the lion from the tribe of Judah!
