Jesus referred to the baptism of the Holy Spirit as the promise of the Father in Acts 1:

Jesus told His disciples in the 14th chapter of John that if they believed on Him, the same works that He did they would do, and even greater works because He was going to the Father.  He also said that He would pray and the Father would give them the Holy Spirit. [...]
